The Nix Mini 2 is ideal for easily matching and identify any color with a simple scan. Pair it with the free Nix Toolkit app to access over 200,000 paint colors and harmonies, or retrieve digital color values. Here are some tips:
-Download the Nix Paints app, not the Nix Pro Color Series
-Choose the paint brand(s) that you prefer – otherwise it pulls up way too many options.
-May need to write down the color names unless you can figure out how to save samples to the app.
-Paint fades, so take samples in areas with high sunlight exposure, or shaded depending on what color you are trying to match
-If you have textured dry wall, try to take the samples on the largest, least bumpy flat area
-Illumination doesn’t seem to make much difference, but try whatever light is normally used
-The sensor does not give finish – i.e. matte, semi-gloss, gloss. so you’ll have to judge that for yourself based on store samples.
